Making Second Income Coach Work

I just listened to a training call for Second Income Coach and have some notes to share which may help you.  SIC is a funded sponsoring system designed to help you find prospects for your primary program.  Let’s say you’re in a network marketing program and looking to build your business.  What you might normally do is pay for leads that don’t want to talk to you (does cold calling sound familiar?).  However, with a funded sponsoring system, you can actually have leads pay you!

When you advertise Second Income Coach online and gain referrals, a certain percentage will upgrade to Gold and/or join under you in the various affiliate programs listed at SIC, earning you commissions.  With the commissions you earn, you can re-invest them into advertising to generate even more leads!  Even if someone joins under you in SIC but not in your primary program, you can still be earning commissions.

Setting up Second Income Coach and Making It Work

1.  Start with “Start Here” -> “Getting Started” and “SIC Checklist”.  Do not go through everything all at once.  Do things one step at a time.  If you read about a type of advertising you’re comfortable with, stop reading and start that type of advertising.  Once you learn that, move onto the next section.

2.  Update affiliate IDs of programs you are already involved with.  Join one program and master it before moving onto the next program.  Do not upgrade in everything at once unless you have unlimited funds.

3.  Make a checklist of what you will do to advertise SIC daily.  The main methods taught at SIC are using social networks, credit-based lists and safelists, and traffic exchanges.  If you are using traffic exchanges, the SIC biz capture page is great because it was designed to fit in the screen without the need to scroll your mouse.  And while Gerry’s SIC video works, recording your own video can be much more effective.

4.  For better results, follow-up with your Second Income Coach members to see if they need any help.  We have weekly training calls and excellent Skype groups for support.

Does Safelist Marketing Work?

Today I’d like to go over safelist marketing for getting more traffic and building your list.  Safelists have been around a long time, and they still work.  The key is consistent marketing.

Safelists are basically email lists where everyone has agreed to receive emails from other members.  You don’t have to worry about being accused of spam when sending to safelists.  The number of members you can reach and the frequency you can post depends on the safelist.  Also, some safelists are credit-based.

What should you market using safelists?

Well, you can market anything, but safelist members are more likely to buy things like safelist memberships, safelist software submitters, email list management software, ad tracking, and information about getting better safelist marketing results.  They are likely looking for more places to advertise, right?

When writing your ad, try to come up with a catchy headline.  The headline should grab the reader’s interest and make them want to click to see your email.  Write ad copy that makes the reader want to take action.

If you want to get started using safelists, make sure you have two email inboxes.  You’ll want one as your list address and another as your contact address.  Your list address will get hundreds or even thousands of emails per day.  These email inboxes must be reliable as safelists tend to suspend your account when emails sent to you bounce or fail.  I am using Gmail as a free list email inbox.

Wondering which safelists to join?

You may be wondering which safelists to join.  Ideally, the best ones are the most responsive ones.  You won’t get a good return joining safelists where the emails bounce all the time or fail to deliver.

If you have a lot of time, you can join any safelist you see.  You’ll just get more email in your list and contact addresses.  If you join A LOT of safelists, you might even need additional inboxes to handle all of the emails.  If you want to join a few to get started, check out my post on list building using ListJoe and SOTAM.  They are free to join with the option to upgrade.

You can find more safelists by going to search engines and entering queries like free safelists and safelist directories.

New Enhancements at Second Income Coach

Did you hear about the new enhancements at Second Income Coach?  Just wanted to make sure you’re aware of them:

1. Free members can now update their affiliate links in the Second Income Coach back office.  This means that when you refer members to SIC, they will be able to join under you in all the different SIC programs.  You’ll get paid commissions if they upgrade.  This is huge because it allows free members to earn using this system.

2. Existing SIC Gold Members, and free members who upgrade in April are eligible for a 500,000 soken bonus at Sokule.  Sokens help you build your list at Sokule.  For more information on Sokule, see my blog post.

3. There is a Spring into SIC referral contest going on in April.  The top three referrers in April will win Gold memberships for 12 months, 6 months, and 3 months.

4. The Second Income Coach main page has been updated to pull in higher search rankings.  Signups from that page will be given to Gold members using a rotating system.  The members area is being re-designed to provide better flow and ease of use.  And, there is a new Facebook Fan Page.

5. TrafficWave will be added as an autoresponder that can be integrated with SIC.  This gives you another option (other than GVO) to build your list with SIC.

Are you ready to get SIC?

Sokule – My Initial Impressions

I joined Sokule less than two weeks ago and just wanted to give my initial impressions.  First of all, if you’re wondering what Sokule is, it’s a social media site and list builder.  It has the same flavour as Twitter, but there are some key differences.  For example, the lingo is different.  You squeek instead of tweet, and you have trackers instead of followers.

When I signed up, I took the silver member offer.  Almost immediately, I started getting people tracking me.  Pretty kule!  Sokule had automatically put out an offer of 20,000 Sokens on my behalf to entice people to track me.  Sokens are like credits, and you can offer them to build your list on auto-pilot.  At the time of this posting, I have 227 trackers.  And if you’re an upgraded member, you can email those trackers every 3 days.

When I first logged in, the thing that struck me was all the different buttons and new terminology.  Fortunately, there’s a FAQ and a getting started guide to help you get accustomed to Sokule.  One really neat thing about Sokule is that you can use it to post your message to over 85 social networking sites including Facebook and Twitter with one click of a button (if you’re upgraded).  You can also post longer messages in Sokule using Sokwall.  When you post your article on Sokwall, Sokule will shorten your post and link back to your full article.  And you can optionally ping additional web logs to get even more exposure to your post.

The other neat thing about Sokule is the postit page that shows your posts.  This page can be customized with your profile picture, bio, website, videos, favourite links and favourite social media sites.  People can sign up on your postit page, and existing users can track you there.  As an example, you can check out my postit page.  Remember, your postit page can get a lot of exposure because Sokule will link back to your postit page when you post a message to all the different social networks.

List Building Using SOTAM and ListJoe

Today I’d like to share with you what I learned from the recorded Second Income Coach training call about list building using SOTAM (State of the Art Mailer) and ListJoe.  Second Income Coach is a system that can be duplicated.  For example, the ad copy that is available in my back office is the same as any other member gets.  The recommended resources and affiliate programs that I see are also the same that anyone else sees.

Will you see results with this system?  The answer is YES if you are consistent and persistent.  The only way you can fail is if you quit, or you take no action (which is the same as quitting).  If you are a gold member, you will earn 50% commission for each gold member that you sponsor.  That means you only need two gold members to break even.  On average, 1 out of 10 members upgrade to gold, so it would take approximately 20 members to get 2 gold upgrades.  If you’re not seeing these numbers, then you need to take more action or possibly tweak what you’re doing.

ListJoe and SOTAM are two of the recommended credit-based lists in Second Income Coach.  Both programs have free and paid memberships.  If you get a free membership, you’ll need to rely on clicking on links in emails to get credits (this can be quite time-consuming).  The credits you earn can then be used to email your ad to other members.  To save time and get the ability to email more members, you’ll want to take the upgrade (if it’s in your budget).

In ListJoe, make sure to setup your backend ads – spotlight ads, top email ads, and a login ad.  Remember that ad copy is available in your back office.  Once your backend ads are setup, the next thing you’ll want to do is email ListJoe members.  Go to the Send Mail link and copy and paste the ad copy into the form.  Make sure to change the ad to display your name and your affiliate link.  And add the member’s first name into the email using the code provided (this is not the same in all programs).  For example, it might be {FIRSTNAME} or [fname] or something else.  Preview the ad to make sure the links work and everything looks OK.

In SOTAM, one neat thing about it is that you can earn credits without even opening up your email.  There’s a section in your members area where you can view the ads and click on the link to view the site and earn credits.  Credits can be used to reach higher button levels.  At a higher button level, you can mail more members.

With both list builders, you can mail every 3 days.  You may want to mark down in your calendar when you can send out a mailing, or watch for the email reminder from ListJoe.
