4 Tips on Article Writing

Why would you want to write articles?

Writing articles can position you as an expert in your topic.  Your reputation as an expert in your topic will grow.  Just keep writing high-quality articles that people want to read.  And you will get inbound links from webmasters who decide to publish your articles.

People who read your articles may become potential customers. If they like what they read, they could become interested.  They could read your resource box, visit your site, and buy something (if that’s what you want them to do).

Some Tips on Article Writing and Submission

1. Proofread and Preview

Before you submit your articles, proofread them to eliminate any obvious errors (like misspelled words, missing punctuation).  Also try to get someone else to read your article.  That way,
you get a different opinion.

Preview your article whenever possible.  This allows you to proofread all the formatting (like line breaks, bold or italics if you use them).  And you can verify your links too.

2. Read All The Guidelines

Read the content guidelines!  Some article directories specialize in certain topics only.  It doesn’t look too good if you submit a health article to a car article directory.

Read the formatting guidelines!  Some fields allow HTML.  Some fields don’t.  You are usually limited to which HTML tags you can use.

Read the other editorial guidelines!  For example, some directories don’t allow links in the body of your article.  And some don’t allow referral links.

3. Make Your Resource Box Relevant

Make your resource box relevant to your article body.  For example, you’ve written a great article on superior strategies for playing chess.  Now, I don’t think you’d get many interested visitors if you were writing about Internet marketing tips in your resource box, would you?

Include a link to your site in your resource box at the article.  That way, anyone who decides to use your article will give you an inbound link (unless they explicitly remove your links, which is not a good practice).

4. Choose Your Keyword Phrase

Choose a keyword phrase that you want people to type in search engines to find your article.  Include your keyword phrase in your title, your body, and your resource box.  Make sure your title is not just your keyword phrase.  Add something to make your title to entice people to read further.
