Traffic Zipper – Safelist Submitter That Saves You Time

Safelists and credit-based lists such as ListJoe and SOTAM have been one of my primary methods of advertising.  These lists are great because they let you reach a targeted audience of Internet marketers.  Safelists can definitely help you get traffic if you join responsive ones and consistently send out your ads.  With the help of safelists and credit-based lists, I was able to win 1st place in the April referral contest for for the funded marketing system Second Income Coach.

Logging into one safelist website, viewing other ads, and filling in the form to send your ad out probably doesn’t take too much time.  However, when you start joining multiple safelists, you’ll notice that it takes more time to manage. You’ll have to manually login to each web-based safelist you’ve joined to post your ad. And you’ll have to keep track of when you can submit to safelists.  Depending on the safelist, you could be submitting weekly, every few days, or even every day. On top of that, safelists do not use the same first name personalization tag, so you have to make sure you always have the right tag in your email text.

I’ve found a program called Traffic Zipper that helps me manage safelists and save time submitting ads.  It’s a safelist submitter designed to save you time by letting you send your ad to multiple safelists with the click of a button. There is no software to host on your computer and the interface is easy to use. Traffic Zipper has over 20 pre-determined responsive safelists (or list builders) that you can manage.

Once you join this submitter, all you have to do is give your login information for each safelist you want to use. Once you have your list builders saved, then all you need to do is create your ads with catchy subject lines and compelling copy. Save your ad and you should be good to go.

Here’s the part that helps you manage when you can send to your safelists: Traffic Zipper can check the mailing status on all of the list builders you’ve defined and let you know when you can submit to each one.  After you’ve checked the mailing status, simply specify the safelists you wish to post to, submit, and sit back! I’ve tested it out, and it’s definitely faster than taking the time to login to each safelist to post your ad.

The other great thing is that Traffic Zipper tracks your click-through rates for each safelist. So you can know how your ad is working out and how different groups of people are responding to your ad.

If you post to multiple safelists regularly, I recommend you get this to save time.

4 Tips on Article Writing

Why would you want to write articles?

Writing articles can position you as an expert in your topic.  Your reputation as an expert in your topic will grow.  Just keep writing high-quality articles that people want to read.  And you will get inbound links from webmasters who decide to publish your articles.

People who read your articles may become potential customers. If they like what they read, they could become interested.  They could read your resource box, visit your site, and buy something (if that’s what you want them to do).

Some Tips on Article Writing and Submission

1. Proofread and Preview

Before you submit your articles, proofread them to eliminate any obvious errors (like misspelled words, missing punctuation).  Also try to get someone else to read your article.  That way,
you get a different opinion.

Preview your article whenever possible.  This allows you to proofread all the formatting (like line breaks, bold or italics if you use them).  And you can verify your links too.

2. Read All The Guidelines

Read the content guidelines!  Some article directories specialize in certain topics only.  It doesn’t look too good if you submit a health article to a car article directory.

Read the formatting guidelines!  Some fields allow HTML.  Some fields don’t.  You are usually limited to which HTML tags you can use.

Read the other editorial guidelines!  For example, some directories don’t allow links in the body of your article.  And some don’t allow referral links.

3. Make Your Resource Box Relevant

Make your resource box relevant to your article body.  For example, you’ve written a great article on superior strategies for playing chess.  Now, I don’t think you’d get many interested visitors if you were writing about Internet marketing tips in your resource box, would you?

Include a link to your site in your resource box at the article.  That way, anyone who decides to use your article will give you an inbound link (unless they explicitly remove your links, which is not a good practice).

4. Choose Your Keyword Phrase

Choose a keyword phrase that you want people to type in search engines to find your article.  Include your keyword phrase in your title, your body, and your resource box.  Make sure your title is not just your keyword phrase.  Add something to make your title to entice people to read further.

Hope you enjoyed these tips on article writing!

Marketing and Branding Yourself Online

Second Income Coach had an awesome SIC Tuesday night training call with Gerry Schroeder.  He talked about branding and marketing which are not the same thing.  Branding is about you.  Marketing is the result.

Figure out five things you like (your brand) and make them your niche markets.  You will want to brand yourself towards these goals you have chosen.  An excellent way to brand yourself is by blogging which I mentioned in my previous post about starting your own blog site.

Be Creative, Focus, and Never Give Up

When you are branding yourself online, be creative.  You don’t have to focus exclusively on one niche.  You can combine more than one niche.  For example, if you like golfing and working a home based business, you could write about how your home based business gives you more time to enjoy golf.

When getting involved in the world of marketing, whether it’s Internet marketing, affiliate marketing, or network marketing, it’s easy to spread yourself too thin and attempt to learn too much at one time.  Focus and get good at something.  Continue to work at it until you become great.

Remember, anyone can be successful.  You can be successful and have it all.  It’s all up to you and your desire.  Take action from what you learn, and never give up.

New Tool For Advertising and Branding Yourself Online

Gerry demonstrated a new tool that can help marketers advertise and brand themselves online.  You can use this tool with any page you’re currently promoting.  This new tool has been added to the affiliate programs of Second Income Coach.

Using Press Release Marketing to Drive Traffic to Your Website

I attended today’s Saturday training call at noon Eastern with Janet and Don Legere, Steve Gaghagen, and Karen Pore.  The topic of the call was using press release marketing to generative massive amounts of traffic to your website.  Karen Pore is a work at home mom and experienced entrepreneur who has been using press releases with great results.  She also presented this training at Second Income Coach.

Why Use Press Release Marketing?

This method is very friendly to Internet marketing newbies.  When you submit a press release to 3-5 sites, you can get your press release indexed in the search engines in 24-48 hours.  This can bring you traffic quickly if you’ve setup your press release correctly.  And you don’t have to pay.  Some sites will ask you to pay for faster submission, but you don’t need to pay. Just go with free submission.

Choose a Topic For Your Press Release

A press release is like a testimonial and does not have to be long.  Some sample topics include:

  • your partnership with a system
  • contests or updates regarding your system
  • a new product launch from your primary business

Choose a Headline and Keyword Phrase For Your Press Release

These are very important to the success of your press release.  Your headline should catch the attention of the reader and make them want to read further.  Your keyword phrase is a phrase you want people to type in search engines to find your press release.  Your keyword phrase should appear in your headline, your summary, and 3-5 times in your body (5 times may be too wordy).

More Information on Researching Keyword Phrases

There is some excellent training from Prospect Geyser, a free organic lead generation system.  Inside there is training on keyword phrases from Steve Gaghagen.  Check it out for more details on finding keyword phrases to use for press release marketing.

Uploaded My SIC Video

This past Saturday I went to go get a better webcam so that I could record a video for my SIC capture page.  It was sunny out and I rode my bicycle to get to the store.  About half way there I noticed a bump with every wheel revolution.  I stopped to check what it was.  It was a twig that got embedded in my back wheel and had punctured the inner tube in multiple places.  I had a bicycle pump with me but no patch kit or spare tube.  I had a patch kit and spare tube back home, so I walked my bicycle back to get the wheel fixed.

Anyways, after getting the wheel fixed, I was finally able to get a new webcam (Logitech C510).  Now I’ve recorded and uploaded my first video.  If you want to see how it looks, check it out at http://derickyung.com/sic

Second Income Coach Training: Increase Your Opt-in Response With This Method

From yesterday’s Second Income Coach training call with Janet Legere I learned about an exciting method to increase opt-ins to your Second Income Coach lead capture pages. The method, available to Gold members only, is to replace Gerry’s default video on your SIC lead capture page with your own video.

Adding your own video helps brand you and get people to know you. Plus you have the added benefit that search engines like videos. Janet reported that when she started using her own video on the SIC page, her response went way up!

With desktop sharing, Janet showed us how she recorded a video with her webcam software, uploaded it to GVO (Global Virtual Opportunities) and Youtube, and embedded the video on the SIC capture page. She also showed us how to record the video directly from GVO.

If you’d like to watch Janet’s presentation, the call was recorded and will be added to the Second Income Coach training archives.

I have a webcam that I got a few years ago, but the quality is too low. So now I have to get a better webcam and start recording a video to add to my SIC lead capture page!  If you’re not doing video, are you going to consider it?

If you are not a member, please check out Second Income Coach. If you are already a member, you can login here.

Using DocStoc and SlideShare

I attended a live training call yesterday and learned about using DocStoc and SlideShare from Steve Gaghagen of onlinetechniques.net.  DocStoc and SlideShare are repositories where anyone can upload and share documents like ppt and pdf’s.

Before the call, I had not heard of DocStoc.  I had heard of SlideShare though as I found someone’s slide presentation on SlideShare when doing a Google search.  These two services provide another way for people to find your content and your website.  To get started, I created my accounts and setup my profiles.

I installed PowerPoint and opened it up.  Note: if you don’t want to go with PowerPoint, an alternative is OpenOffice.org.  I took one of my previous blog posts (Making Second Income Coach Work) and “repurposed” it (as Steve says).  Actually I modified the content a bit and formatted it to create a slide presentation.  I saved it to ppt format, converted it to a pdf, and uploaded it to both DocStoc and SlideShare.  After that, I used OnlyWire to submit the document to social bookmarking sites.

Here’s my slide presentation if you want to check it out:

Using ViralinBox To Stop Spam and Sort Emails

You probably have multiple email addresses, and it can be time consuming managing emails and spam.  I heard about ViralinBox to increase email productivity and just joined this brand new program yesterday.  This site already has 2000+ members and it’s going viral in a hurry. It’s a new email provider created by Colin and Frank, owners of ViralUrl and ViralHosts.

I started setting up email boxes.  Email boxes let you have new email addresses.  Let’s say you have an email box named <box_name>.  To email to that box, you would use: <username>.<box_name>@<your_chosen_domain>

The neat thing with ViralinBox is that you can send email to a box that hasn’t been created yet.  When you login, you’ll be able to see that your new box is in pending status.  Once you approve the new box, it will be created and you’ll see the email!

What I like with this feature is that it gives you better tracking.  One tracking strategy is to provide a unique <box_name> every time you give out your email (for example, when you signup for a safelist).  If you start seeing spam in an email box because that address was compromised, simply shut that email box down to stop spam.

If you use this tracking strategy with ViralinBox, all your emails will be automatically sorted by the program or list you joined.  And when you signup for a new program and need to find that confirmation link, you’ll know exactly which email box to look for it.  Sometimes it’s hard to find a confirmation link amidst all the spam and unread messages.

Find out more about how you can manage all your emails from a single dashboard:

Did you start your own blog site?

When I joined the funded sponsoring system Second Income Coach, I had some experience with Internet marketing, and I had my own domain and various blogs (some on my own domains, and some hosted for free at blogger.com).  However, I didn’t have my own domain with my name.

As I started reading through the check list in the Second Income Coach members area, I realized that it is very important to start your own blog site on your own domain.  The reason for doing this is to brand yourself.  You want to improve your KLT (know, like, and trust) factor because people buy from people they know, like and trust.   Having a blog is a way for people to find out what you’re all about.

On the Internet, it can be easy to hide behind a wall of anonymity and send people to systems without ever contacting them.  While some people will go through the system and earn you commissions, you won’t have long-term success.  Systems are needed to train people and get others to duplicate what you’re doing, but you want the people who join with you in a system to stick around.  To do that, they need to know, like and trust you.

Here are the basic steps for starting your own blog site to brand yourself:

1. Get a web host and host a domain that contains your name.  If your name is common and already taken as a domain, try prepending or appending something to your name to see if it’s available.  A couple suggestions would be to prepend whois to your name, or append online to your name.  For example, with my name the alternatives would be whoisderickyung.com or derickyungonline.com

2. Setup your blog on your web host.  For blogging software, WordPress is great because it’s very flexible with all of the different plug-ins and can be optimized for search engines.  I went through the blog training at Second Income Coach to get my blog setup with plug-ins.

3. Put up a form in order to capture the name and email of visitors to your blog.  This way you can follow up with them using your autoresponder.

4. Start posting articles on your blog regularly (an empty blog is pretty useless).

If you’re already a member, login to Second Income Coach to learn how to get your WordPress blog setup on your own domain.
